Assessments and Testing

An important part of any student's life at college is the system of testing and grading. All campuses of the Higher Colleges of Technology, including the Fujairah campuses, do not allow re-sitting of exams for courses. This means that students must pass their course exams in the first sitting in order to pass a course.

Assessments and testing are coordinated by the Academic Services office at the college. This includes the external English language proficiency exams that HCT students are required to pass successfully in order to be granted an HCT credential. Diploma students must pass the Preliminary English Exam (PET). Higher Diploma and Bachelor's students must pass the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
