Some employment opportunities exist locally, but these are quite limited. The Fujairah Hospital is expanding and may have vacancies for qualified staff. There are several language, primary and high schools that may require teachers, and the College itself hires additional staff from time to time. The offices of many major international corporations are located in Dubai, a 1-1/2 hour drive away. If interested in pursuing employment, spouses should be sure to bring along all original documents verifying their qualifications. It is strongly recommended that they have a copy of their major educational certificates notarized, as this is often a requirement.
